Our Mission
Every second a truck full of textile waste goes to landfill. We are here to stop this. Kleiderly’s mission is to give textile waste another chance at a useful life and lower the carbon footprint of the fashion industry. That's why we recycle waste clothing and transform them into a new, circular and sustainable material that replaces oil based plastics. Hence we are solving two environmental problems with one solution.
Problems in a Nutshell.
The Problem Explained.
87% of textiles end up in landfills or incinerators. Around 80% of all our clothing includes some blend of synthetic (man-made fibres) which do not biodegrade in a landfill. Therefore, they do not decompose for over 200 years.
On the other hand, when textiles go to incinerators, they are burned, producing carcinogenic traces of heavy metals which contribute to air pollution. Most plastics used today are derived from petrochemicals sourced from crude oil. If plastic usage is not limited, there will be more plastic in the sea than fish by 2050. If the EU were to incorporate a circular economy, we could halve carbon emissions by 2030.
We are at the beginning of this movement.

Our Vision.
Creating a circular economy can help us making our clothing consumption more sustainable. Our goal is to ensure that unwanted textiles are recycled instead of ending up in landfills. At the same time, we reduce the amount of oil-based plastic products. We use our magazine to raise awareness about the fashion industry and help consumers to become more knowledgeable about their purchases.
